“Him we proclaim,” (Colossians 1:28)
If ever there were an epitaph to have I’d want it to be the first part of Colossians 1:28. It is so simple and yet everything is there.
Like all things it starts with “Him.”
Jesus, the mediator, is the first born of all creation. The creator who holds all things together according to his sovereign will. He is the redeemer of fallen men and the provider of cleansing waters. It all starts with “Him.”
“We” are his bride.
Beloved more than any institution can surmise. Unified as a body; bonded by his blood. We are a people of a holy nation with our own traditions, language, and Spirit. Communities of faithful saints that reflect back to God his infinite worth as we…
… “proclaim.”
Him we manifest in obedience. Declaring how great is our God through joyful and mournful days. We broadcast his hope in a world of darkness as we travel the narrow road.
I resolve to live in such a way that it will be no lie to etch upon my gravestone “Him we proclaim,”
